Components of computer

A has different components to perform variety of tasks. Hardware and software are the main components of a computer .

Hardware:

Hardware refers to all physical parts of a computer that we can see and touch. This includes the input and output devices as well as the system unit.

Hardware. These include the input and output devices.

* Input devices:

Devices which are used to inter data into a computer are known as input devices, e.g. keyboard,Mouse,Microphones,Scanner etc.

* Output devices:

Devices which are used to display output are called output devices.

Software:

A computer can not perform a task with hardware alone. It needs software too. Software is the set of instructions given to the computer to perform a specific task.

For example; the games we play and the programs we run a computer i.e WINDOWS XP, MICROSOFT WORD, MICROSOFT POINT, MICROSOFT EXCEL ETC.

Software are designed to help users to interact with computer, create documents, play games,watch movies,draw images etc. There are two main types of software.

1. System Software

2. Application Software

1. System software:

System software are programs that control and direct the operations of a computer hardware. These software are essential part of the computer system. A user cannot work on a computer without system software.

2. Application software:

Application software is a set of computer program that helps user to do a specific work on the computer. Application software helps a user to produce documents,create graphic, perform calculations,play games etc.
